🌊🌎 Earth Day Beach Cleanup at St. Augustine (UF Whitney Lab)! 🌎🌊
Join us for a rewarding Earth Day experience as we embark on a mission to protect our precious marine environment! Calling all undergraduates and graduate students who wants to come make a splash and leave a lasting impact on the beautiful beaches of planet Earth. ย This event is sponsored and co-organized by SACNAS and SKY UF organizations.

Event Highlights:🧤 Beach Cleanup: Get your hands dirty for a good cause! We'll provide a limited supply of gloves, plenty of bags, and all the necessary equipment to clean up the shoreline and preserve marine life habitats. (If you have your own garden gloves, please bring your own).
🍕 Pizza Lunch: After our hard work, it's time to refuel! Enjoy a delicious pizza feast as a reward for your dedication to environmental conservation.
🏖๏ธ Beach Relaxation: Don't forget to bring your swimsuit and towel (and change of clothes)! After the cleanup, unwind and soak up the sun on the pristine beaches of St. Augustine that you have worked to clean up! It's the perfect way to celebrate Earth Day and appreciate the natural beauty around us. Beach across the marine lab: 1 minute to the River to Sea Preserve, or take car ride 5 minutes north to Matanzas Inlet beach, or 10 minutes to Crescent Beach or 25 minutes to St. Augustine Beach Pier!
What to Bring:
- Comfortable clothes suitable for beach cleanup activities
- Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses for sun protection
- (optional, if you have) Garden gloves and related material to facilitate pick-up (i.e: grabber arm)
- Swimsuit and towel for post-cleanup beach relaxation
- Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to celebrate Earth Day in a meaningful way. Let's come together as a community to preserve our oceans and create a cleaner, greener future for generations to come.
